Sofia Vergara feels she can’t be too “picky” about who she dates because of her age.
After a seven-year marriage, Vergara and her husband, Joe Manganiello, announced their separation in July 2023. That same month, Manganiello formally filed for divorce, citing irreconcilable differences as the cause of their split. Their divorce was finalized in February.
Almost a year after her separation from Manganiello, Sofia Vergara shared her thoughts on the dating scene, speaking with refreshing honesty.
Earlier in January, during an appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, the 51-year-old revealed that she won’t date someone more than two years younger than her.
The actress’ admission came during a discussion about Puerto Rican musician Bad Bunny name-checking her in his track “Monaco.”
When asked if she would ever date him, Sofia Vergara replied that he was younger than her 32-year-old son, Manolo, who she shares with her ex-husband Joe Gonzalez.
“Is that the rule? They can’t be younger than your son?” host Cohen asked her.
Vergara replied, “To me, they can’t be younger than 50, I’m 51.”
Now, Sofia Vergara feels she can’t be too “picky” about who she dates.
“I mean, it’s already hard for a 50-something-year-old woman to find someone. I’m not going to be picky about, ‘Oh, he can only be a doctor. Oh, he can only be an astronaut.’ No, I mean, I’m not that picky,” the Griselda star told PEOPLE.
The America’s Got Talent judge ignited a romantic relationship with Dr. Justin Saliman three months after announcing her separation from her husband.
Vergara and Saliman were first captured on camera together while out and about in Los Angeles in October 2023. Before the actress finally confirmed their ‘togetherness’ through an Instagram post last month. She publicly declared her “Luv” for Saliman, 49, making their relationship official on social media.
