Queen of “Diamonds” Rihanna takes her throne as the most certified female artist with four new RIAA Diamond-certified singles!

The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) has given the nine-time Grammy winner new honors.

According to the RIAA, an organization that certifies music sales in the United States, Rihanna now holds the record for the most releases with a diamond stamp. This prestigious certification is awarded to songs that have sold over 10 million copies.

As of May 31, the RIAA website lists the following songs as diamond-certified: Rih and Jay-Z’s “Umbrella,” the Drake-assisted “Work,” Anti’s “Needed Me,” and 2012’s “Stay.” The news follows the appropriately timed announcement that 2012’s “Diamonds” also went diamond in April.

Four of Rih’s 13 newly obtained RIAA certifications are diamond. “Work” and “Needed Me,” the Billboard Hot 100 chart-topper songs from her 2016 masterpiece, ANTI, have now sold over 10 million equivalent units.

Rihanna’s 2010 collaboration with Eminem on “Love the Way You Lie” was certified on May 9, 2013. Her 2011 collaboration with Calvin Harris on “We Found Love” was approved on April 27, 2023.

According to Roc Nation’s official announcement on Monday morning via X, Rihanna’s ‘Diamonds’ has 10 million equivalent song units. As per the RIAA, 150 on-demand audio and/or video streams or a single digital song sale are equivalent to one equivalent song unit.

“Diamonds” is the lead single from Rihanna’s seventh studio album, Unapologetic, released in 2012. The album is nominated for a 2014 Grammy Award for Best Urban Contemporary Album. After spending three weeks at the top of the Billboard Hot 100 chart, it gave RiRi her 12th No. 1 hit. Additionally, the song spent one week at the top of Billboard’s Dance Club Songs, Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs, and Rhythmic Airplay charts (10 weeks).

Rihanna celebrated online with a reminder that no one collects ‘diamonds’ as much as she does.

“Ain’t no back n forth,” Badgalriri captioned a photo, displaying her latest milestones.

It’s crazy that Rihanna’s albums are still selling even though she hasn’t released an album in eight years! She’s a real hitmaker!
