Milwaukee, Wisconsin, is home to an inspiring young trailblazer who has defied expectations and made history.
Imunique Triplett, just 17 years old, earned her practical nursing diploma in 2022 while still completing high school.
Her incredible achievement showcases her dedication, perseverance, and a desire to break barriers for herself and others.
Imunique’s success stems from her participation in the innovative M³ College Connections program, which enables students from Milwaukee Public Schools to earn college credits from Milwaukee Area Technical College and the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
The program offers tracks in nursing, teaching, and general education, allowing students like Imunique to work toward both high school and college graduation simultaneously.
Adopted by her great aunt and uncle when she was just 10 months old, Imunique has always strived for academic excellence.
Her journey was not without challenges—balancing 3-4 college courses with high school studies during the COVID-19 pandemic was no easy feat. Despite these obstacles, she remained focused on her goals.
Reflecting on her achievements, Imunique shared:
“I work so hard because I’ve seen how people can struggle. I have seen my parents live from paycheck to paycheck, and I knew that I wanted to change that narrative.”
Her determination to create a better future drives her continued success.
“I have tried to surround myself with people who inspire me and that I can inspire,” she said.
Imunique’s next goal is to continue her education and pursue a career as a registered nurse or nurse practitioner. With her drive and passion, she is well on her way to making an even greater impact in the world.
