The children of the late Kim Porter have issued a statement denying reports that their mother ever wrote a book. A recently published memoir, claiming to be written by Porter before her passing, has sparked controversy and outrage among her family.
Earlier this month, a book of alleged diary entries by the late Kim Porter was released on Amazon just a week before her ex, Sean’ Diddy’ Combs, was arrested on charges of racketeering, sex trafficking, and trafficking for prostitution.
In a statement released by the family, Porter’s children made it clear that their mother, who passed away in November 2018, did not pen any such book before her untimely death. The fake memoir allegedly contained personal insights and stories supposedly written by the beloved model and actress, but the family has denounced these claims as entirely fabricated.
According to the Daily Mail, Porter saved a book titled KIM’S LOST WORDS: A Journey for Justice, From the Other Side, on a hard drive and sent it to Los Angeles record producer Chris Todd. Todd later released the book on September 6 under the pseudonym Jamal T. Millwood. However, Porter’s children now claim that she never wrote a memoir.
In a joint Instagram post on Tuesday, September 24, 33-year-old Quincy, 26-year-old Christian, and 17-year-old twins Jessie and D’Lila addressed the “many hurtful and false rumors circulating about our parents, Kim Porter and Sean Combs’ relationship.”
“We have seen so many hurtful and false rumors circulating about our parents, Kim Porter and Sean Combs’ relationship, as well as about our mom’s tragic passing, that we feel the need to speak out,” they wrote.
Our lives were shattered when we lost our mother,” the siblings wrote of Porter, who died of lobar pneumonia in 2018. “She was our world. And nothing has been the same since she passed. While it has been incredibly difficult to reconcile how she could be taken from us too soon, the cause of her death has long been established.”
They denied any “foul play” allegations and asked that fans “respect our request for peace” as they mourned the loss.
Finally, Quincy, Christian, Jessie, and D’Lila requested that Kim Porter’s legacy be respected and held in high regard so that she could rest in peace. “It is what she deserves.”
