Tension between Boosie Badazz and his daughter, Iviona Hatch, has made headlines again following the rapper’s recent controversial comments during an interview with Caresha.

On Friday (September 27), videos began to circulate online from Boosie BadAzz’s guest appearance at Yung Miami’s Caresha Please! Live taping.

In the video, Boosie explains that he does not allow his openly lesbian daughter, Poison Ivi, to bring her partner into his home. When Miami asks why, Boosie clarifies that he’s trying to protect his other children from homosexuality.

“She still can’t bring her situation to our house. My daughter is grown—Because I don’t want it to contaminate her other siblings,” Boosie said began. “It’s a generation we’re raising, and I don’t want her to get too contaminated for her other six or seven sisters who look up to her. I want them to bring me grandchildren…”

He continued, “If I want grandchildren the right way… that’s what I stand on. If I don’t want my other little girl to look at daddy and say, ‘What’s that daddy?’ to somebody she looks up to? It’s not gonna come around. My grandfather didn’t let it, my daddy didn’t let it, and I didn’t let it.”

Shortly after the clip went viral, Badazz’s daughter Poison Ivi posted a video of herself sitting in a car, explaining that she had seen the video of her father making the hurtful comments. She sobbed as she explained why she was tired of him bringing up her sexuality.

“I just saw that he recently did an interview with Caresha and he used the word ‘contaminate’ and put my siblings in it at that,” she said. “If you know me, I love and respect my siblings with everything in me. And they respect me and love me with everything in them.

Iviona, who has been open about her sexuality, made it clear that her relationship with her siblings remains strong despite her father’s disapproving stance.

“When you getting on their nerves, I’m who they call,” she continued, pointing out how deeply connected she is to her family, especially her siblings. She also touched on how her bond with them is unshakeable.

“When you get on their nerves, I’m who they call,” Iviona continued. “Most of my siblings are teenagers that you don’t want to see grow up.”

She also addressed when her father first found out that she was a lesbian. “The incident that happened was in Jamaica…when you called me a gay b-word,” Iviona revealed. “So if the world really knew the hurtful things you told me before and I forgave you, you wouldn’t even understand.”

“Emotionally, mentally, you suck,” she says. “You suck, bruh. And I know you suck with that ’cause you’d rather go to the internet and have a conversation with the internet about your kids before you come to us and have that conversation.”

She adds that he recognizes Boosie is a provider, is by no means “a bad father,” and has no plans to “disrespect” her pops.

Boosie has previously spoken about his daughter’s sexuality, stating in a DJ Vlad interview from 2023 that he and his family are struggling to “accept” Poison Ivi. He claims they still love her, though.
