Megan Thee Stallion is claiming 2024 as her year, and she’s backing it up with a big move. The Grammy-winning rapper appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, where she excitedly announced her deluxe album, MEGAN ACT II, which is set to be released this Friday.
The deluxe edition includes 12 new tracks and the bonus track “Neva Play” featuring RM from BTS. Other guests include Twice hopping on the “Mamushi” remix, Flo Milli, and Spiritbox. The original “Mamushi” is currently ranked No. 66 on the Billboard Hot 100.
During her chat with Fallon, the host couldn’t help but point out that Megan had already graced fans with new music recently, asking, “You just came out with new music. Why are you adding more?”
“I feel like I gotta keep the Hotties stimulated,” Megan responded with a smile. “You have to understand that this is the year of Megan Thee Stallion.”
She explained that releasing more music stemmed from the need to keep the momentum going. “We did the Hot Girl Summer tour, I dropped my album… First of all, I did it so backward. I didn’t drop my album before the tour; I did it in the middle of the tour!” Megan added.
Earlier this month, Megan had teased that she was working on a mixtape.
Houston rapper Megan Thee Stallion recently took to social media to announce that she will release her deluxe album, Megan: Act II, on October 25.
“MEGAN: ACT II OCTOBER 25,” she captioned her Instagram post. The rapper’s Pen & Pixel-inspired cover art features her in butterfly form with the title written out in diamond-encrusted letters.
Megan Act II is the deluxe edition of her June 2024 album Megan. It will include 13 new tracks in addition to the 18 already released on MEGAN.
The original MEGAN album included hit songs like “Hiss” and “Cobra,” as well as appearances by Victoria Monét, GloRilla, UGK, and Big K.R.I.T. While the first release featured snake imagery with Megan emerging from a shell on the cover, MEGAN: ACT II features a metamorphosis, with Megan poised with butterfly wings representing growth and transformation.
