Actress Laura Harrier has publicly called out actor Shameik Moore after he posted a video of the two of them together, sparking dating rumors.
The drama unfolded when actor Shameik Moore posted a video of them together, igniting dating rumors. The video, taken over a year ago at a party, was meant to promote Moore’s music but caught Harrier off guard and led her to speak up about it.
In a recent video, Harrier expressed her frustration, saying, “I keep seeing all these videos that I’m being tagged in with another actor, and people speculating what that is. It’s really annoying me because I’m literally engaged, and that’s important to me.”
She emphasized that being engaged to creative consultant Sam Jarou is a significant part of her life, and she didn’t appreciate the implications of Moore’s post. Harrier acknowledged the nature of Hollywood, where PR stunts are typical, but she felt the timing of the video wasn’t right. She recalled her reaction when a friend shared the video with her, saying, “I was like, no,” realizing she had no idea it was up.
The video stemmed from a casual moment at a party where they took a photo together, and she questioned why Moore chose to post it now. To address her concerns, Harrier reached out to him directly.
“I texted him. We’re not close; I know him just from around,” she said. She asked him to take the video down, clarifying, “Also, I’m literally getting married, and I don’t like this insinuation that there is something going on between us if that was your intention.” Despite her request, the video is still up, which Harrier found quite strange. “You’re a f–king weirdo. I’m sorry. You’re a f–king weirdo. And I’m f–king annoyed,” she candidly stated.
In response, Moore posted a video of his own, later deleting it, where he explained that the situation was a misunderstanding. “It’s really the fan fiction, man. It’s the commentary… that’s what’s fucking weird,” he said. He clarified that to him, the video was simply about “art” related to his song, insisting that he never meant to insinuate any kind of relationship.
He wrapped up by apologizing for the misunderstanding, saying he truly meant no harm.
