Judge Allows Cassie To Be Served Through Alternative Means in Sex-Trafficking Lawsuit After Judge Says She’s ‘Unreachable’

by Gee NY

A federal judge has cleared the way for a civil lawsuit against singer Cassie Ventura to move forward, ruling that the plaintiff, Clayton Howard, may serve her through alternative means after repeated failed attempts to reach her through traditional channels.

The ruling does not validate any of the explosive allegations against Cassie or Sean “Diddy” Combs. It simply allows the case to proceed after the court determined she was “unreachable” despite multiple service attempts.

The Allegations Behind the Case

Howard, a self-described sex worker who has appeared in the Netflix docuseries Sean Combs: The Reckoning, accuses Diddy and Cassie of subjecting him to sexual exploitation, trafficking, and coercive “freak-off” encounters.

He further alleges that Cassie transmitted an STD to him and pressured him into sexual acts under Diddy’s direction. In one of the most serious claims, he says a pregnancy was terminated without his knowledge or consent.

Cassie has not responded publicly to the lawsuit, and none of the allegations have been tested in court.

Howard’s allegations echo broader claims raised in recent months about Diddy’s behavior, many of which became national headlines after Cassie’s 2023 lawsuit against the music mogul helped trigger a wave of investigations, raids, and ultimately Diddy’s imprisonment.

Why Alternative Service Matters and What It Doesn’t Mean

Judge Anne Hwang approved Howard’s request for alternative service after service attempts at Cassie’s known addresses and efforts through her attorney failed. Courts typically authorize this step when a defendant cannot be located through traditional means such as in-person delivery.

Alternative service is widely used in civil cases. It has no bearing on whether allegations are true. It simply ensures a lawsuit can be formally delivered so legal proceedings aren’t stalled indefinitely.

The judge instructed Howard to send the summons and complaint to Cassie and attorney Meredith Firetog, who may forward the documents.

A Case Moving Forward Amid a Larger Reckoning

Howard’s involvement in Sean Combs: The Reckoning helped bring attention to his claims, which revolve around a world he describes as exploitative, coercive, and controlled by Diddy. While he acknowledges Cassie was also victimized by Combs, he argues that she played a role in imposing harm on others, particularly younger or less powerful individuals.

With Diddy already serving a federal prison sentence on unrelated charges, the lawsuits linked to his alleged past misconduct continue to expand outward—pulling in former associates, employees, and partners.

What Comes Next

Now that Howard is legally permitted to serve Cassie through alternative means, the case can move forward if she responds. If she does not, he could later request a default judgment.

Either way, the lawsuit marks another chapter in the widening legal fallout surrounding Diddy—a scandal that shows no sign of slowing as new claims emerge, old allegations resurface, and courts sift through what is provable and what is not.

For Cassie, who has rebuilt much of her life outside the spotlight, this development ensures she will once again be pulled into a legal fight with national attention.

More filings and potential responses are expected in the coming weeks as the case proceeds.
