A suspected road rage incident in South Dallas has left one woman dead and a suspect on the loose, police say.

On Tuesday shortly after midnight, police were dispatched to the scene on the 5500 block of Winslow Avenue.

Officers arrived to find 30-year-old Nancy Aguilar inside a vehicle dead from a single gunshot wound. Dallas Fire-Rescue was called to the scene but she succumbed to injuries.

Investigators say there was a passenger inside the vehicle at the time of the shooting but the passenger was not injured. Police are not releasing the identity of the second person inside the vehicle.

During investigations, detectives found that Aguilar was shot after getting into a verbal altercation with two unknown Black men in another vehicle.

Investigators believe both vehicles were heading eastbound in the 5500 block of E.R.L. Thornton Freeway when the suspects “shot at Aguilar’s vehicle—striking her and causing her to crash into a retaining wall,” according to a CBS report.

No description of the suspects or the vehicle they were in is available.

Investigations are ongoing and the story is developing.

The news comes just two months after another shooting in Texas – this time from Jakysia Shianne Rodgers, a 29-year-old Texas woman who was accused of shooting a man in the leg then dashing with his cash.

According to KLTV, police responded to a call about a man who had just been shot and robbed by two women. He would not say who the women were, but when officers arrived at the scene and found him wounded inside an apartment complex, witnesses indicated that two female suspects fled the scene in a black Kia sedan.

After being transported to a local hospital, the victim identified the woman as Rodgers after he was given her driver’s license. It remains unclear who the second suspect is in the shooting and robbery

Rodgers was booked into the Smith County Jail and released on a $300,000 bond, according to court documents. It is unclear when she is expected to appear in court.
