Aerospace Engineer Aisha Bowe Shares Inspiring Video About Her Life Journey Ahead of Historic All-Female Blue Origin Space Crew

by Gee NY

Aisha Bowe, the trailblazing aerospace engineer and former NASA rocket scientist, is set to make history as one of six women aboard the first all-female Blue Origin space mission.

But for Bowe, orbit isn’t the limit—it’s just the beginning.

In a recent Instagram post that quickly inspired thousands, Bowe declared:

“My mission is to inspire women, especially Black women and girls around the world, to chase their dreams unapologetically… You were never meant to fit into a box.”

The post, paired with a deeply personal video, chronicles her journey from being underestimated in high school to defying the odds in the aerospace industry.

“They told me to study cosmetology,” she said. “They laughed when I started at community college and called me crazy for trying to major in aerospace. But I did. I graduated and I got hired at NASA.”

Now a successful entrepreneur who founded two multimillion-dollar tech companies, Bowe continues to break barriers—this time, quite literally—by joining Jeff Bezos’ Blue Origin mission.

She will fly alongside CBS host Gayle King, pop icon Katy Perry, philanthropist Lauren Sánchez, activist Amanda Nguyen, and producer Kerianne Flynn aboard the New Shepard rocket.

The suborbital flight will launch from a site near Van Horn, Texas, taking the crew to the edge of space in an 11-minute journey.

“Sometimes You Can’t Tell People Your Dreams—You Have to Show Them”

The Blue Origin crew, dubbed by Elle Magazine as “a team of power women,” is redefining who gets to claim space. The mission is symbolic not just for its scientific feat, but for its statement on inclusion and representation.

“We’re a crew!” the women reportedly declared at a promotional photoshoot, all wearing sleek black outfits, styled to perfection—hair, makeup, and all.

For Bowe, the mission is more than a personal triumph. It’s a rallying cry to young women—especially girls of color—to believe that no dream is too audacious.

“To every young girl watching this: Your dreams are valid. Your goals are within reach. Keep reaching. Keep rising,” she said.
