Angela White, the entrepreneur and reality TV star long known by her stage name Blac Chyna, marked a deeply personal victory this week, announcing she has reached 900 days of sobriety, a milestone she credits to faith, self-discovery, and reclaiming her identity. The 36-year-old shared the news in an emotional Instagram post on March 1, reflecting on her journey from turmoil to peace.
In a series of candid throwback photos, White opened up about her struggles with substance abuse and the spiritual awakening that changed her life.
One image showed her being baptized in a swimming pool on her birthday in 2022, a symbolic moment she ties to the start of her sobriety.
“I thought nobody noticed, but they did. I wasn’t happy. I wasn’t at peace. Until I found Jesus. Until I got sober. And started to remember Angela,” she wrote alongside the photos.
Once a staple on Keeping Up with the Kardashians and Rob & Chyna, her life played out in tabloids, marked by legal disputes, cosmetic transformations, and controversies. However, in recent years, White has shifted focus toward wellness and spirituality. She dropped the “Blac Chyna” moniker in 2022, reverting to her birth name as part of her rebranding.
Before celebrating her sobriety milestone, Angela White shared the moment she recognized that she was struggling with alcoholism on the Piers Morgan Uncensored show’s February 26 episode.
“I thought, if you drink for like, two, three days straight, back to back, that that’s not an alcoholic. In my eyes, an alcoholic was, you have to wake up, you need a drink. ‘I need a drink. I nee
d a drink.’ But when I would drink an alcoholic drink, I wanted another one, and another one, and another one, and another one, and it’s bingeing.”
“So I had to come to the realization like, hey, maybe I am an alcoholic,” she added.
Angela White mentioned that she doesn’t miss drinking and is not tempted. She is so distant from alcohol that the only thing she experiences is nightmares related to it.
