An Arizona woman is charged with several felonies after she was involved in a drive-by shooting at a local Walmart.
Goodyear Police say Shydonica Black, 46, was involved in a fight with someone driving a car with two children inside. Officers were immediately called to the scene, where Black has been accused of firing gunshots. No other information about the shooting has been released, although investigators have identified Black as the shooter.
Black has been charged with a drive-by shooting, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, endangerment, criminal damage and disorderly conduct with a weapon. Her bond has been set at $25,000.
In July, Shine My Crown reported about another shooting involving a woman and people in vehicles.
Based on the information detectives gathered, Breasia Bowers, 21, fired shots from a car that was following another vehicle with the two shooting victims inside, according to Lexington County Sheriff Jay Koon, who added that they were riding on Lazy Brook Drive in Little Mountain, Kentucky.
Police quickly apprehended the suspect, who was arrested and detained. She is currently being held at the Lexington County Detention Center.
Officers say the two men were not injured during the incident, but their vehicle has been damaged from the bullets shot from the weapon.
“Investigators continue to work on this case, but it seems to stem from a disagreement among extended family members,” Koon said. “One of the victims is related to Bowers by marriage.”
According to the Educational Fund to Stop Gun Violence, “Nearly 700 Kentuckians died by gun violence in 2019, an average of nearly two people every day. Suicides were 65% of the gun deaths and homicides were 29%.”
