Beyoncé’s highly anticipated new whiskey brand is making waves even before it hits the shelves. According to reports, the just-released spirit has already secured multiple awards, showcasing its exceptional quality and taste.
Beyoncé Knowles-Carter founded SirDavis American Whisky, an award-winning American whisky crafted in collaboration with Moët Hennessy, and five-time International Whisky Competition Master Distiller of the Year, Dr. Bill Lumsden.
The brand’s name honors Davis Hogue, Beyoncé’s paternal great-grandfather, who was a farmer and moonshiner in the American South during Prohibition.
The multi-talented superstar, whose net worth continues to rise with every new move she makes, announced her brand-new whiskey line on Instagram.
She did so in an Instagram post, casually showing off a glass of the new whisky next to a sleek bottle with its emblem: a golden horse.
In the first photo, Beyoncé dresses in a stylish, intricate white lace outfit with a matching headscarf and choker. She sits against a wall that appears to be adorned with vertically hanging bundles of white yarn or thread.
Her pose is relaxed yet confident, with one arm resting on the back of her seat and the other holding a glass of whisky. Her expression is poised and composed, contributing to the photo’s luxurious and sophisticated feel. The setting and her attire give the image a chic, bohemian vibe with a hint of elegance.
And, of course, she teased her fans with an iconic lyric from one of her most recent songs, Bodyguard, captioned “Davis in my bones.”
According to X account @BlackIsKing, Beyoncé’s team appears to have pulled a fast one to avoid bias for or against the pop star, submitting SirDavis under an alias in several whiskey contests.
Sir Davis apparently attended the 2023 whiskey contest under the pseudonym “Davis Hogue Distilling Company” and won multiple awards. It won the Gold Medal at the NY Intl Spirits Competition, Best of Class at the SIP Awards, and a prestigious “Highly Recommended” rating at the Ultimate Spirits Challenge.
SirDavis may have been a surprise to the public, but Beyonce has been working on it for several years. At least, that is what she stated in a press release.
“I’ve always been drawn to the power and confidence I feel when drinking quality whiskey,” she wrote. “And [I] wanted to invite more people to experience that feeling.”
“We have crafted a delicious American whiskey that respects tradition,” the pop star added. “But also empowers people to experience something new and unique in the category.”
