The drama between Erica Mena and Safaree Samuels continues to unfold. Following Safaree’s recent interview, in which he discussed his co-parenting challenges with Erica, the “Love & Hip Hop” star took to social media to fire back.
Safaree recently sat down with Keyshia Ka’oir on her podcast to share his perspective on their co-parenting struggles. During the interview, he opened up about his relationship with his two children, Legend and Safire, admitting that he hasn’t seen them in months. He explained that the ongoing court proceedings surrounding their custody arrangements have created barriers.
“With this court going on, I refuse to go to her house to pick up the kids until this thing is set up on paper,” Safaree explained. “And I know, okay, this is my time because our court order had to be moved from Atlanta to here. So now it’s okay. What’s the new schedule and setup going to be? Because I’m not going to be doing that, I’m picking them up because you said it’s good to pick them up, and then you want me to drop them off whenever.”
“I want it to be like okay if it’s Fridays, I pick them up from school, then Monday, I bring them back to school, and then it’s like okay, that’s what it’s going to be.”
Safaree also addressed the criticism he’s received online, with many branding him a “deadbeat dad.”
“I really don’t let it get to me because I know what’s really going on,” Safaree said. “Deadbeats aren’t paying what I’m paying in lawyer fees. It’s so expensive, and I hate it so much. I just want it to be black and white.”
However, Erica Mena quickly challenged Safaree’s version of events. She wrote on Instagram, “@theshaderoom the truth to one of the many lies is it’s actually 6 months. Half a year.”
She also hinted at exposing more details about their strained relationship, stating, “Before I walk into 2025, I promise you all will know the whole truth. And it won’t be no edited fabricated fake receipts either. And y’all know I don’t do interviews with just anybody. So just know this sit-down will be explosive.”
This isn’t the first time the former couple has aired their grievances publicly. Their split has been marked by accusations, legal battles, and heated exchanges on social media.
