A Georgia mother who horrified the nation by killing her two young sons in an oven has been sentenced to life in prison.
Lamora Williams, 24 at the time of the murders in 2017, was convicted of multiple charges, including murder and cruelty to children, on Nov. 15, 2024.
Williams’ crimes sent shockwaves through the community after she placed her sons, Ja’Karter Penn, 1, and Ke’Yaunte Penn, 2, in an oven, reportedly either on the night of or the morning before the incident was discovered.
The toddlers died after prolonged exposure to the intense heat, according to autopsy reports cited by WKRC, which revealed the oven had been tipped over to facilitate the heinous act.
In a disturbing twist, Williams video-called the boys’ father, Jameel Penn, to show him the grisly aftermath. Penn later described the experience to local outlets, likening it to “a real horror movie” and “Friday the 13th.”
He immediately contacted authorities upon seeing the scene.
Initially, Williams tried to mislead police, claiming the children had been left with a caregiver. However, investigators discovered evidence proving otherwise. Police responding to the crime scene found the children with severe burn injuries.
Mental health issues reportedly plagued Williams, her mother told Fox 5 Atlanta at the time. Despite this, the court found her responsible for the calculated and horrific actions that led to her sons’ deaths.
