Ice Spice has downplayed the perceived rivalry with fellow rapper Latto, insisting that the feud is mainly one-sided.

In a recent interview, the Bronx-born rapper claimed that the tension between the two was originally a playful exchange that has since been exaggerated.

Latto previously addressed potentially battling Ice Spice over their rumored feud in her July cover story with Billboard.

Latto stated that while there have been subliminal shots between her and Ice Spice, Ice Spice cannot stand to go into a rap battle with her.

“Everybody gon’ take their lil jabs in the music, and it’s not even that serious to me; I feel like you should do that. Continue to! But as far as actual whole diss records to each other, I don’t think she would even want to do that. I feel like … would it even make sense? It wouldn’t.”

Back in February, the two rappers exchanged shots. Ice first dropped veiled bars on the song “Think U the Sh*t (Fart)” after assuming Latto was mocking her in a TikTok video the previous month.

A week later, Latto appeared to return fire on the track “Sunday Service.” The same month, a truck advertising Ice Spice’s new single was vandalized in Atlanta. And Latto’s poop emoji cake post last month sparked speculation that she was mocking Ice Spice’s single, “Think U the Shit (Fart).”

The Bronx princess graced the cover of Rolling Stone on Thursday (July 25), a day before the release of her debut album Y2K!, and attempted to put her rumored beef with the “Big Mama” rapper to rest.

Ice Spice clarified that if there is a genuine issue between them, it is not on her side.

“I feel like if we ever spoke and I asked her, ‘What’s the issue?’ it’d be like a blank stare,” she predicted. “It’d really be no issue whatsoever. Especially from me.”

“I can understand a friendly competition, but I just feel like, at this point, it’s a joke that she’s just dragged out, and it’s just not even funny. Like, bro, ‘Think U the Sh*t’ is from January,” she continued.

The 24-year-old added, “You’re going to post a piece of sh*t cake to announce something that’s good news for you? But it is kind of a compliment because you’re taking something that’s supposed to be a fun moment for you, and you’re making it about me again”.”

Ice Spice’s comments suggest a different viewpoint, implying that she is more concerned with her success than engaging in a lengthy public battle.
