A deeply emotional TikTok Live by @tayyylormadeit is gaining traction, as more Black women speak out about the growing difficulty of finding stable employment in today’s economy.
In the viral TikTok video, the creator expresses frustration and confusion about her inability to secure work despite following what many consider the traditional path to success.
“I truly do not understand why it’s so damn hard to get a job… I can’t even get my foot in the door right now. I’m just literally drowning,” she said.

She described having a college education, career plans, and long-term goals—only to find herself struggling to gain employment in a shifting economic landscape.
Despite the hardship, she maintained resilience, adding that while she remains hopeful, the emotional toll is undeniable.
A Wider Alarm Across the Community
The video gained further traction after activist Tamika D. Mallory amplified it on Instagram, warning that the issue extends far beyond one individual.
Mallory said she spends “half of her day” listening to Black women express similar struggles, describing the situation as both widespread and deeply concerning.
She linked the trend to broader systemic issues, including economic shifts and the rollback of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives.
“The attack on DEI means the attack on Black women. Full stop… It’s intentional and it’s dangerous,” she said.
Economic Pressures and Policy Debate
The viral moment comes amid ongoing national discussions about unemployment trends and economic inequality. While some reports suggest shifts in unemployment rates across demographics, advocates argue that Black women remain particularly vulnerable to economic instability.
Mallory also pointed to political dynamics and public silence from some leaders and community members, calling for greater organization and support.
From Struggle to Action
Amid her own challenges, tayyylormadeit revealed she has started a nonprofit aimed at helping other unemployed women—turning personal hardship into community-focused action.
Her story has resonated widely, with many social media users sharing similar experiences and calling for more resources, job opportunities, and systemic change.
A Moment of Reckoning
As conversations continue to grow, the viral video underscores a broader concern: that even those who follow traditional pathways—education, career planning, and stability—are not immune to economic hardship.
For many, the message is clear: this is not just an individual struggle, but a collective issue demanding attention.
