Janet Jackson posted a message expressing her gratitude to key workers who are out on the frontlines amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Essential workers have not been able to stay home and safe in self-quarantine like many of us — instead, they are out every day putting themselves at risk to ensure that the rest of us stay healthy, fed and virus-free.

“Hey u guys! While most of us are inside there are many brave people around the world that aren’t able to be isolated because we need them,” she wrote.

“I want to take a moment to recognize and say thank you to the nurses, doctors, hospitals, healthcare providers, scientists, drivers, pilots, flight attendants, delivery teams, cleaners, grocery stores, clerks, teachers, managers, men and women in uniform, sanitation facilities, janitorial teams, reporters, journalists, security professionals and everyone around the world who are working nonstop to end the spread of the virus,” Jackson wrote in the lengthy post.

“Putting themselves at risk to protect, serve and provide for us. YOU are seen and forever appreciated. Thank U and please stay safe. (sic) “

The post comes the same day a World Health Organization official said that “we are now seeing a very large acceleration” in U.S. coronavirus infections. They added that America has the potential to become the new epicenter of the global crisis.

The country has seen a sharp increase in those who have tested positive for COVID-19. Several states have mandated stay-at-home orders to help control the spread of the virus. Many of the orders ending in April.
