Jennifer Hudson discussed her relationship with rapper and actor Common in a rare romantic life update.
Common and Jennifer have made multiple appearances together, including one on the court during a basketball game in May 2024.
After months of speculation, Common and Hudson publicly and joyfully confirmed their relationship earlier this year. The two shared light-hearted moments and openly discussed their blossoming romance during a special appearance on ‘The Jennifer Hudson Show’ on January 22.
Common gave Hudson a bouquet of flowers before they sat down to talk.
Hudson introduced himself and Common as Chicago natives before sweetly pressuring the topic of romance early in the interview.
“Let’s get down to business, Mr. Common,” Hudson said at the time. “I’m a host, so I have to ask you this question because everybody always wants to know this. Are you dating anyone?”
The Grammy-winning rapper chuckled nervously as the audience applauded. “So, yeah,” he responded. “And I’m in a relationship that is (with) one of the most beautiful people I’ve ever met in life.”
Next, Common elaborated by mentioning Hudson and the actress-singer’s accomplishments.
“She’s smart. She loves God. She has something real down to earth about her. She’s talented. But I set my standard kind of high because she had to have an EGOT. She had to win an Oscar on her first movie. I set my standard high. She had to get her own talk show.”
After being questioned about her personal relationships by “The Light” emcee, Hudson replied that she is “dating as well” and “very happy.”

While attending the Daytime Emmy Awards on June 7, the actor and singer shared some insight into their relationship.
She told People about her relationship with Common, “Everything is wonderful. You only need to know that.”
