Kanye West has issued an apology to Kamala Harris and expressed admiration for Donald Trump as he made a contentious return to social media.
The 47-year-old artist, now legally known as Ye, regained access to X (formerly Twitter) in 2023 after being banned for posting antisemitic conspiracy theories.
In a series of seemingly unconnected posts, West asserted his billionaire status, praised Trump, and apologized to Kamala Harris—following a previously deleted tweet containing an explicit remark about the former vice president.
“Trump’s back in office. Ye’s back a billionaire. The world might just be ok,” wrote the controversial star. He later said, in reference to the infamous red MAGA hat: “I risked my life to wear a red hat then he turned it black.”
Kanye West’s recent social media activity has sparked controversy due to a sexual remark he made about former Vice President Kamala Harris. In a now-deleted tweet, West stated, “I used to want to f-k Kamala until she lost. I don’t f-k losers anymore,” referencing Harris’s defeat in the 2024 presidential election. Following backlash, he apologized to Harris and her stepchildren, writing, “Kamala seems like a very nice human I just wanna say sorry to her kids.”
He later said: “The democrats made me take the loser post down. Naw I’m kidding. Dey don’t control black people no more. Trump 4 life.”
He then apologized to the former presidential nominee, writing, “Kamala seems like a very nice human. I just wanna say sorry to her kids.”
Trump, who previously aligned himself with West—including inviting him to the White House in 2018—has since sought to distance himself from the rapper in recent years.
Despite facing numerous controversies and legal battles, West has continued to stay in the public eye. In November, it was revealed that a new documentary about him was in the works.
Titled In Whose Name?, the film aims to provide “a unique and cinematic perspective on Ye’s public transformation” and is expected to be released sometime this year.
“With a billion-dollar budget and a commitment to truth, Ye, formerly known as Kanye West, invites 18-year-old Nicolas Ballesteros armed with an iPhone on a six-year journey revealing unfiltered aspects of celebrity life, which confront the provocative opinions, grand visions and bold contrarianism that defined him as the world’s most controversial artist,” reads an official synopsis.
