Mom Kills 11-Year-Old Daughter And Pets To Demonstrate ‘What Would Happen’ If The Girl Lied

A Maryland woman has been charged with first-degree murder after allegedly killing her 11-year-old daughter and four family pets in what police describe as a violent and disturbing crime.

Keyona Dillon, 34, was arrested after officers responded to a home in Middle River around noon on Thursday, January 23. Authorities discovered the body of London Olsen, along with the remains of a dog, two cats, and a rabbit, according to WWNY-TV.

Allegations and Investigation

According to charging documents, Dillon admitted to strangling her daughter and killing the family’s pets as a means to demonstrate “what would happen” if the girl lied. A ligature mark was reportedly found on London’s neck, investigators told WBFF.

Dillon’s 5-year-old daughter later informed police that her mother had beaten the animals with a hammer the night before allegedly killing London, per CBS News.

Police also found three other children inside the home, all of whom were unharmed.

Erratic Behavior and Arrest

When officers attempted to interview Dillon, she allegedly exhibited erratic behavior and made statements about exposing child sex rings, transsexuals, and far-right extremist groups, according to the charging documents cited by WWNY-TV. She also claimed she was being set up by outside groups.

Dillon is currently being held without bond at the Baltimore County Detention Center. It remains unclear whether she has entered a plea.

Legal Implications

The case raises significant legal questions regarding mental health evaluations in criminal proceedings and the extent to which psychological factors may play a role in Dillon’s defense. If convicted, she could face life in prison without parole under Maryland’s first-degree murder statutes.

Authorities have not disclosed whether child protective services had prior involvement with the family.
