Monica is back with new music and in a steamy video for her latest single Letters, her son is speaking out about a guest appearance with rapper The Game.

At midnight Friday, the 42-year-old R&B sensation dropped the video, which shows her in a bathtub with the 43-year Compton rapper. When Monica posted teaser photos of the scene on Instagram, her 15-year-old son Romelo wrote in a hysterical comment “Yo what is this.”

Monica then replied, “SON… It’s like a movie!! Momma at work.”

Monica is the mother of three – Romelo and Rodney, 18, who she shares with her ex Rodney “Rocko” Hill, and a 9-year-old Laiyah with former LA Lakers star Shannon Brown. She then posted the hilarious exchange on her Instagram Story.

“Somebody please tell Lil Daddy take a day off….” she captioned it.

In May, the Atlanta native shared images and a video of Romelo, playing basketball, stating that he would “change the game.”

“My Son @romelo is going to change the game,” she captioned the post. “He is dedicated, motivated , he remains teachable as well as FEARLESS.”

Later that month, her firstborn Rodney graduated high school, to which she also praised for the honor.

“@rodneyy This Moment, This Day is YOURS…… Class of 2023,” she wrote. “FAMILY 1st IS OUR NONNEGOTIABLE.”

Born Monica Denise Arnold, Monica rose to fame in the 90s with her chart-topping hits The Boy is Mine and Angel of Mine. She began her singing career as a gospel singer and signed with Rowdy Records in 1993. Her debut album Miss Thang would become the first of many successful albums she would release later, including The Boy Is Mine in 1998, After the Storm in 2003, The Makings of Me in 2006 and Still Standing in 2010. She has also appeared in hit TV series, including Living Single, Felicity and American Dreams.
