Nicki Minaj is switching things up once again! In a surprise move, the rap queen announced she will drop a brand-new project, Pink Friday 3, instead of releasing a deluxe version of her latest album.
Nicki Minaj was set to release a deluxe version of Pink Friday 2, ‘Gag City Reloaded.’ She even officially announced the new deluxe version of Pink Friday 2.
The Queen Barb took to Instagram on Monday (August 26) to let fans know when they can expect the now-scrapped project and share a carousel of photos of herself and her husband, Kenneth “Zoo” Petty.
Along with photos of Nicki flaunting her figure in bikinis and snuggling up with her man, the slideshow featured potential artwork for the deluxe album, which revealed a September 13 release date.
However, in a surprise move, Minaj scrapped those plans and announced an entirely new album – ‘Pink Friday 3.’
“Instead of doing a DELUXE to Pink Friday 2, I’ve decided to do a brand new album. I’ll still incorporate new songs like #Mamita & [The “anxiety” song] for the remainder of the tour tho…and I’ll announce the new date within the next couple weeks,” Nicki Minaj began the press statement.
She continued, “The new music is just too good to be thrown away on a deluxe album. Last night, the songs I recorded were just way too iconic. I love you guys so much. You know that. I know you do. I’ll still give you something leading up to the announcement, so no worries.”
“PF3 is about to do PRECISELY wtf BEEN needed to be done. TRUST ME BARBZ. I’M SO EXCITED. BLESSED. LOVED (by the Barbz) & fortunately (for the Barbz & me), I’ve learned A LOT since 12/08/23.”
While Nicki has been tight-lipped about the specifics, fans are already speculating on what Pink Friday 3 will bring. With the original Pink Friday serving to do fabulously well and Pink Friday 2 as a sort of comeback, the third installment is expected to elevate her already legendary status even higher.
