Nicki Minaj’s England show was regrettably postponed due to her brief detainment by Dutch authorities on suspicion of marijuana possession. Despite this setback, the resilient star has not let it dampen her spirits, claiming this isn’t the first time they’ve tried interfering with her plans.
Nicki Minaj told her side of the story after being detained by the police in Amsterdam.
The rapper, deeply moved by the outpouring of support from her Barbz or supporters, expressed her heartfelt gratitude to them for standing by her during this challenging time.
“Thank you to everyone who prayed for me today,” she wrote. “May God cover you & all that is connected to you. May you be blessed beyond your imagination.”
The “Anaconda” rapper was reportedly detained on suspicion of possessing marijuana in her personal belongings when she was on her way to Manchester for a gig.
The rapper, currently on her “Pink Friday 2” World Tour, has denied breaking any laws in several social media posts. Minaj appeared calm and cooperative in videos shared online while speaking with local law enforcement.
Nicki Minaj claimed that she was detained in a cell for five to six hours before being permitted to board a plane that was twenty minutes late. Even though the flight lasted only fifty minutes, the entire experience was sufficient to prevent her from performing on stage.
Subsequently, she alleged that the police deliberately prevented her from attending the gig in Manchester and said she has “sooooooooo much video evidence. You wouldn’t believe it if I told you.”
“So they succeeded at their plan to not let me get on that stage tonight,” Nicki wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter. “I succeeded [at] getting to the root of it all by recording them & posting everything in real time.”
“They sure did know exactly how to hurt me today, but this, too, shall pass. They’ve been doing this over & over & over & over & over again & I’ve tried so hard not to discuss it b/c you guys deserve to just get the good stuff. I hate involving you in anything that isn’t for entertainment purposes only.”
After apologizing to the fans who had been looking forward to the show, Nicki said she would reschedule it for either June or July. More information will be released on Sunday.
She also assured fans that she would include a bonus surprise!
