A coalition of Black and Latino health technology leaders have thrown their support behind Vice President Kamala Harris for U.S. President, citing her commitment to health equity and inclusive innovation.
In a joint letter, the group of prominent entrepreneurs and industry leaders highlighted Harris’s dedication to bridging healthcare gaps and creating a future where technology promotes wellness for all communities.
The group, whose experience spans digital health, artificial intelligence, and healthcare delivery, emphasized the need for a leader who prioritizes equity.
They believe Harris is that leader, pointing to her career-long focus on addressing healthcare disparities for communities of color.
The entrepreneurs outlined four key areas where they believe Harris’s leadership will drive real change:
- Increasing Representation in Health Technology Leadership: Diverse voices in leadership roles ensure culturally responsive solutions.
- Bridging the Digital Divide: Digital tools should be accessible and user-friendly for all, especially historically underserved communities.
- Investing in Diverse Entrepreneurs: Expanding capital and mentorship opportunities for Black and Latino founders will foster a more inclusive innovation ecosystem.
- Preventing Algorithmic Bias: Ensuring fairness and transparency in digital health solutions is vital to prevent exacerbating existing health disparities.
Throughout her career, Harris has been a strong advocate for policies that support minority entrepreneurs, expand digital access, and drive community-based solutions.
Her vision aligns closely with the tech leaders’ commitment to advancing equity and promoting health innovation that works for everyone.
This endorsement is more than just political; it’s a call to action for health leaders and advocates to join in building a healthcare system that empowers, not excludes.
