Simone Biles Slams Critics Over Husband’s Display of Her Olympic Gold Medal: ‘F**king Miserable’

by Gee NY

As Simone Biles continues to captivate audiences with her historic performances at the Paris Olympics, she has also taken a stand against online critics targeting her husband, Chicago Bears defensive back Jonathan Owens.

Amidst her Olympic success, including gold medals in the team event and the all-around competition, Biles took to social media to address negative comments directed at Owens.

The controversy erupted when Owens, who had taken time off from training camp to support Biles, posted a celebratory photo of himself wearing Biles’ gold medal.

In his Instagram post, Owens expressed his admiration and pride in Biles’ achievements, noting her historic status as the most decorated American gymnast with a total of nine Olympic medals.

However, the gesture was met with criticism from some online users, who questioned Owens’ right to wear the medal. One commenter argued that the medal belonged solely to Biles, while another TikTok user demanded that Owens remove it.

In a robust response, Biles defended her husband, rebuffing the critics with a fiery comment on Instagram.

“Crazy thing is, I put my medal on every single one of my family members and took pictures,” Biles wrote. “So don’t ever make assumptions. Like y’all are so fucking miserable. Leave us alone.”

The criticism of Owens is part of a broader issue for Biles, who has occasionally faced online trolling related to her relationship.

In May, Biles had previously addressed similar disrespectful comments, stating on Instagram, “Respectfully, fuck off.”

The negativity towards Owens dates back to a December podcast where he admitted he did not know who Biles was when they first matched on a dating app, suggesting that he was the “catch” in the relationship.

Biles and Owens married in April 2023.

Despite the off-field drama, Biles has let her performances speak volumes. At the Paris Olympics, she has further solidified her legacy, with plans to compete in the women’s vault event on Saturday.
