Lizzo recently sent shockwaves through social media after revealing a dramatic weight loss transformation in a new workout video.
The 36-year-old had a difficult 2023 due to improper conduct allegations. Lizzo was sued for allegedly creating a hostile work environment and engaging in sexual harassment by her former dancers.
In May 2024, the four-time Grammy winner disclosed her victory over a 10-month-long depressive episode. She also revealed her focus on improving herself and promoting her shapewear brand, Yitty.
Subsequently, Lizzo has been drinking plenty of water, staying active at the gym, and doing business.
The ‘About Damn Time’ chart-topper took to social media to share a video highlighting her workout progress. She posted a video of herself performing a lat row/pull workout at two different times, or better yet, stages.
In the first scene, she tries her hand at the workout, while in the second, a more confident Lizzo sets the tone with the same move, nodding to the camera in appreciation of her improvement.
Through her Instagram post, she stated to her followers that they, too, could accomplish incredible feats, whether in the gym or in everyday circumstances.
“If you’re reading this… remember you can do ANYTHING you put ur mind to!” she wrote. “Stay focused, you got this 💪🏾”
Lizzo has long championed body positivity and is adding a fresh chapter to that journey.
The singer revealed that her motivation for training is non-physical. She stated that one of the main reasons she works out is to improve her mental health, which has significantly improved due to training.
“I think a lot of people see a fat person that way and immediately just assume everything they are doing is trying to be thin. I’m not trying to be thin. I don’t ever want to be thin. The goal is always here,” Lizzo disclosed during an interview with Huff Post.
According to Lizzo, it is more than just trying to be thin or lose weight.
