City Girls rapper JT just introduced the world to her new pup, and the internet is divided. While some fans gushed over the unique pooch, Tia Kemp dragged it, calling the dog “raw” and accusing JT of “always trying too hard to be different.”
The outspoken ex of rapper Rick Ross is catching heat after she went in on City Girls rapper JT’s new dog.
The drama popped off shortly after JT debuted her dog during a livestream on Snapchat, where she was seen casually eating with the pup in her lap.
JT’s newest furry companion is a Xoloitzcuintli (pronounced show-low-eetz-QUEENT-ly), or Xolo for short. It’s a rare, ancient breed of Mexican hairless dog known for its rich spiritual and cultural history. The Xolo was considered sacred by the Aztecs and is even said to be a guide to the afterlife. You might recognize the breed from the Disney/Pixar movie Coco.
JT, who seemed unbothered by the dog’s unconventional look, held the hairless pup lovingly while chatting with fans. But clearly, not everyone was here for the dog’s otherworldly aesthetic.
However, Tia Kemp’s comments indicate that she disagrees with JT’s choice. “Why would you go buy this kind of dog? That b*tch is ugly. She knows that,” Tia said in a now-viral clip. “She always trying to be different. I know she looks at the b and go like you going to be given away soon,” Tia said.

“She’s definitely always tryna be different, and it always backfires on her 😂😂😂.”
“That’s the spirit guide dog from Coco! I love it 😍.”
“Wait… am I the only one that sees the cuteness? It’s just a baby 😩.”
“Better question: Why is she eating with the thang in her lap? I was waiting on it to lick her in the mouff!”
And while the internet had jokes, a lot of folks also stepped up in JT’s defense. Many praised the City Girls rapper for embracing individuality and not bending to internet pressure, something JT is known for.
JT has long stood ten toes down when it comes to being unapologetically herself and defending her man, too. Back in February, she clapped back at online trolls dragging her boyfriend, Lil Uzi Vert, for his experimental look at a Marc Jacobs fashion event. He had on goth bangs, a spiked wig, and a face full of piercings, and Twitter had opinions.
JT didn’t let it slide.
“If Uzi was white, nothing he does would bother y’all miserable ass n**s!” she tweeted. When someone called Uzi’s style “white people stuff,” JT doubled down: “What’s white ppl stuff? Lazy fat b*h? Do you know your own history? STFU, pigeon!”
