Grammy-winning artist Tyla has made the difficult decision to cancel her highly anticipated world tour and Coachella performance due to a worsening injury, she revealed in a heartfelt message to fans on Instagram.
The “Water” hitmaker, who was set to embark on her first world tour later this month with stops at festivals like Coachella, shared the news of her cancellation on Thursday, March 14.
Tyla expressed her disappointment in having to cancel the tour, which was scheduled to kick off in Oslow, Norway, on March 21 and include dates in North America and Europe.
In her Instagram post, Tyla opened up about silently battling a health issue for the past year, which has unfortunately worsened over time despite seeking medical treatment.
She emphasized that continuing with the tour would jeopardize her long-term health and safety, leading to the difficult decision to cancel all upcoming performances.
While Tyla assured her fans, affectionately known as Tygers, that they will still see plenty of her in the future, she expressed her heartbreak over having to turn down opportunities she has waited her whole life for. However, she remains optimistic and determined to return to performing pain-free in the future.
Despite the setback, Tyla’s album rollout remains on track, with her highly anticipated debut LP scheduled for release on March 22. The album will feature 14 tracks, including her chart-topping single “Water” and a remix featuring Travis Scott.
Tyla’s announcement has sparked an outpouring of support from fans, who have expressed their understanding and well-wishes for her recovery.
The cancellation of Tyla’s tour and Coachella set serves as a reminder of the challenges artists face behind the scenes and the importance of prioritizing health and well-being in the midst of a demanding career.
