Kenya Moore is stirring the peach-scented pot after claiming that Porsha Williams was never truly supportive of her longtime friend Shamea Morton joining the cast. While Season 16 marked Shamea’s official debut as a full-time Housewife, the real drama has been happening behind the scenes and between former besties.
In a recent interview, Kenya didn’t hold back when reflecting on the apparent fallout between Porsha and Shamea. According to Kenya, Porsha once questioned Shamea’s motives for filming the show altogether.
“Why are you doing this… do you need the money that bad?” Kenya recalled Porsha allegedly saying.
Kenya, who has never been shy about calling out what she sees, took it a step further by bringing in a little Oprah wisdom to make her point.
“I just remembered this saying Oprah said before: ‘If you have a friend that even shows you a hint of them not wanting you to succeed or climb the rung in the ladder, they are not your friend.'”
Kenya even hinted that jealousy might be behind Porsha’s attitude, adding more fuel to the already fiery feud.
This isn’t the first time viewers have sensed tension between Porsha and Shamea. Despite once being best friends, their relationship has been on shaky ground since Shamea secured her first peach. From shady comments to awkward distance at group events, fans have been side-eyeing the situation all season.
In fact, Shamea herself opened up about the rift back in May during an interview on The Ricky Smiley Morning Show. When asked what she would change about this season, she didn’t hesitate: her friendship with Porsha.
“We just see things differently,” Shamea said. “We’ve grown apart. And I think new people in her life have played a role in that.”
Shamea revealed that she has tried reaching out to Porsha to make peace, but so far, she has received radio silence. A mid-season trailer even showed Shamea in tears, heartbroken over how far apart they’ve drifted.
To be fair, Porsha has denied being unsupportive. In her own defense, she’s made it clear she doesn’t mind sharing the spotlight with Shamea, but fans aren’t totally convinced.
Now, with Kenya chiming in and not-so-subtly calling Porsha a bad friend, things are getting spicy, and not in a fun “who-wore-it-better” kind of way.
Will Shamea and Porsha find their way back to friendship? Or has reality TV officially broken another bond?
