Revelers at the Broadway Oyster Bar in St. Louis witnessed a once-in-a-lifetime moment Sunday night, Oct. 28, 2025, when legendary R&B group TLC surprised local singer Tish Period as she performed their 1995 hit “Waterfalls.”
Period, 45, closed her eyes while belting the song — and opened them to see Chilli standing by the stage. Moments later, T-Boz walked inside, leaving the stunned singer speechless.
“I literally thought I saw a ghost,” Period recalled. “Those ladies were my teenage idols. We grew up listening to them.”

TLC had just finished their performance at Evolution Festival in Forest Park when, while riding their tour bus, they heard the familiar tune coming from a nearby bar. They stopped, ran inside, and joined the crowd as Period and her band played the iconic track.
“We were in the van coming here and were like, ‘Wait a minute, we hear our song,’” Chilli explained in an Instagram video. “So, we just pulled over and felt like crashing with you guys.”
Video footage shows the Grammy-winning duo hugging Period and her band as the crowd erupted. Overcome with emotion, Period dropped to her knees in tears before regaining composure to finish the song.

The surprise came at a meaningful time for the singer, who has been questioning her path in the music industry. A former contestant on The Voice (Season 14),

Period has performed everywhere from the Apollo Theater to local venues across St. Louis, but admitted she’d recently been feeling discouraged.
“This was confirmation that I’m on the right path,” she said after the show. “I’m just so honored that God allowed me to experience that.”
Though she didn’t snap photos with Chilli and T-Boz, Period said she was focused on seizing the moment and delivering her best performance.
