A Louisiana woman has been arrested and charged with two counts of second-degree murder and two counts of obstruction of justice after police linked her to the murder of her boyfriend in 2021.
According to the Baton Rouge Police Department, Janice Frazier, 42, admitted to killing Emanie Anderson Jr. nearly two years ago. She had already been detained for shooting and killing 34-year-old Christopher Holden earlier this month when police found that she may have played a role in the death of Anderson in 2021. When she was questioned, she confessed to the murder.
Police say Holden was discovered dead in the early morning hours on July 15. Investigators believe he was shot the day before near an apartment and was left for dead at a local park.
Police has also confirmed that the suspect was in relationships with both victims at the time they were killed.
A close friend of Anderson said that he is not surprised to know that Frazier killed him.
“God can come down here right now, and I would’ve bet my life, even before this happened that she was the one that killed EJ. Not another soul but her,” Edward Hayes told KXII.
While there wasn’t any physical evidence, surveillance video or sufficient witness testimony to charge Frazier with a crime, they were able to charge her after she confessed.
Before Anderson died, Hayes said he spotted red flags.
“That was the crazy thing, that he had just told us a week prior that she was trying to kill him,” he explained.
Another friend of Anderson said that before he died, he asked that he go to police for help.
“I hate to say it, but he was one of those street guys who didn’t believe in calling the police,” Toliver Hayes said. “I begged EJ to call the police, to get a restraining order, get a paper trail before something bad happens. Him not doing it didn’t quite work out in his favor.”
Frazier is currently detained at the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on two counts of second-degree murder and two counts of obstruction of justice. Her bond has been set at $1.1 million.
This story is developing and an investigation is still underway.
