A California woman who had been missing for nearly a year has been found—in a Miami jail, facing felony charges.

Destiny Riddle, 39, vanished from Los Angeles in July 2023, leaving her family desperate for answers. The NAACP Pasadena Branch 10 issued a public plea at the time, stating that Riddle had been inactive on social media and had not visited her mother in weeks, fueling concerns for her safety.

To their shock, Riddle resurfaced on Monday, March 24, 2025, when she was booked into Miami-Dade County Jail on aggravated battery charges.

Court records reveal that she was allegedly involved in a hit-and-run crash that left a 69-year-old man injured.

Riddle Denies Allegations, Mother Raises Mental Health Concerns

Despite the charges, Riddle has maintained her innocence, claiming in court, “those people hit me with their car first and drove off.”

She also attempted to represent herself and demanded to be released, but the judge denied her bond.

According to The Jasmine Brand, her mother, Julie Riddle, has voiced concerns about her daughter’s mental health, stating:

“She’s totally out of touch with her family. She’s displayed paranoia, schizophrenia… we had not heard from her.”

With bond denied, Riddle remains in custody in Miami, awaiting further legal proceedings.
