Multi-talented actress and producer Issa Rae has teamed up with San Francisco-based fine jewelry brand Cast to launch a 22-piece collection that reflects her personal style and values.
Titled The Braeve Jewelry Collection, the line features a variety of pieces, including earrings, rings, necklaces, and bracelets crafted in 14K gold, sterling silver, black onyx, and lab-grown diamonds.
Rae’s collaboration with Cast echoes a shared emphasis on artful design, quality, and empowering women to invest in themselves.
Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter about the collection, Rae noted how typical jewelry marketing often targets women as recipients of gifts from men.
“As a storyteller, the typical marketing around jewelry is that women wait to be gifted [it] by a man… [but Cast’s] whole ethos is about having women be able to gift themselves,” she explained.
The collection is designed with versatility in mind, seamlessly transitioning from day to night. Rae emphasizes that her jewelry pieces can elevate both casual and formal looks, allowing women to feel confident and stylish in any setting.
“My personal style day to day is very simple—jeans, t-shirts, Chucks—and that’s why this jewelry is my way of dressing up,” she said.
One standout piece in the collection is The Braeve Pendant Necklace, which Rae described as her favorite. The necklace features Cast’s Signature Flip Innovation, allowing wearers to switch between an all-gold side, an all-onyx side, or a half-and-half option.
Rae humorously revealed that she uses the pendant as a “mood necklace,” where the black side signals a “don’t mess with me” vibe, the gold side indicates she’s approachable, and the middle option suggests a balance of both.
The Braeve collection is available for purchase on Cast’s website, with select pieces also available at Nordstrom. Prices range from $250 to $5,900, making the collection accessible to a variety of budgets.
Beyond her fashion endeavors, Rae is also busy in the entertainment world.
She’s currently in post-production for a buddy comedy featuring SZA and Keke Palmer, while also working on multiple TV shows and a movie project.
