by Gee NY

The Disney community is mourning the tragic loss of Dominique Brown, a beloved influencer known as HellooDomo, who passed away on December 5 at the age of 34.

Brown suffered a fatal allergic reaction at a BoxLunch industry event in California, despite event organizers reportedly being informed of her allergies in advance.

Brown co-founded BlackGirlDisney in 2018 alongside Mia Von to address the lack of diversity within the Disney influencer community.

Their platform provided an inclusive space for women of color who share a passion for Disney’s films and theme parks, fostering representation and community for fans worldwide.

Tributes Pour In

Fans and fellow influencers expressed their heartbreak and gratitude for Brown’s contributions to the Disney fandom. Her brother, @pramos313, shared an emotional message on her final Instagram post, saying:

“Thank you to her social media fam for showing her so much love and light. Disney brought her joy, but it was unparalleled that she found a community who loved her and Disney as much as she did.”

Tatiana Kelley, known as Dapper on the Daily, called her “the kindest most genuine person in this community,” while Andrea Pugh Kelley highlighted her role in building and inspiring the Disney influencer community.

The Disney sneaker podcast Kicks at the Castle honored Brown, emphasizing her “warmth and joy” alongside her impeccable sense of style.

“Her energy, style, and love for all things Pooh made her unforgettable,” the group shared.

Isaiah Campbell, a member of Kicks at the Castle and Brown’s close friend, expressed his sorrow, writing:

“This is going to be such a tough road for me, but I’m happy I have a community to back me every step of the way.”

Legacy of Representation

Through BlackGirlDisney, Brown inspired countless fans by celebrating diversity and creating space for voices that had long been underrepresented.

Her work and influence resonated far beyond the Disney community, serving as a reminder of the importance of inclusivity in all spaces.

Brown’s death also brings attention to the importance of food allergy awareness and safety measures at public events, with many calling for greater accountability in the wake of her passing.

As friends, family, and fans continue to honor her legacy, Dominique Brown will be remembered as a beacon of joy and representation in the Disney world and beyond.
