Tisha Campbell just dropped a truth bomb about plastic surgery, and moms everywhere are nodding in solidarity. The 56-year-old actress turned heads at the BET Awards not just with her glam but with her candid confession: she got a “mommy makeover” after having her two kids.
While most celebrities keep their nips and tucks under wraps, Tisha Campbell just took to the BET Awards red carpet to exclusively reveal the “wild” and refreshingly honest reason behind her “mommy makeover.”
The actress from “My Wife and Kids” displayed her hourglass silhouette on the red carpet at the event held in Los Angeles on June 9. She wore a burgundy leather dress featuring a snakeskin print, an elegantly flared train hem, and multiple belt buckle accents. She complemented her outfit with a number of large gold bangles adorning both hands and coordinated her hair with the dress by donning a cherry cola red wig fashioned in elegant waves.
Tisha, strutting her stuff on the carpet this past Monday, chatted with Entertainment Tonight and laid it all bare.
“I recently got plastic surgery. It was a mommy makeover. I had extra skin from the baby, and a little bit of drop this here, and a little bit of drop this there, and they tightened me together,” Campbell told Entertainment Tonight.
Tisha was quick to highlight that this transformation wasn’t about fitting into some unrealistic ideal or for anyone else’s gaze. She continued, “We should be feeling good about ourselves, you know? I’m a single mom, not ready for dating, but I just wanted to feel good for me. First of all, I’m an open book. Second, I just think it’s more important to know why one does it.”
When asked about her decision to be open at this time, Tisha Campbell clarified, “I think it’s more important to be honest to know that I didn’t get all this by myself. It’s nice to be a little more snatched around that area for me. It’s not for everybody, but it was for me.”
