Beyoncé — singer, songwriter, actress, and businesswoman — has officially added “Emmy winner” to her long list of accolades!

The superstar earned her first Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Costumes for a Variety, Nonfiction or Reality Program, honoring the dazzling Western-inspired designs from her “Beyoncé Bowl” halftime show, a performance that streamed on Netflix during the NFL’s Christmas Day game.

The Aug. 12 announcement by the Television Academy came through its juried categories, where industry panels, rather than traditional nominees, select winners. Beyoncé shares the honor with her creative team — Shiona Turini, Erica Rice, Molly Peters, Chelsea Staebell, and Timothy White — and will officially receive the award during the Creative Arts Emmys in Los Angeles next month.

“This is historic,” one observer remarked, as the win brings Beyoncé closer to the coveted EGOT status. With 35 Grammy Awards, an Emmy now in hand, and only an Oscar and a Tony left to claim, the achievement marks a new chapter in her career after 10 previous Emmy nominations without a win.

The 13-minute halftime spectacular, held in her hometown of Houston, celebrated Black Southern and Western heritage with over 500 performers, including Post Malone and her daughter, Blue Ivy Carter. Featuring live renditions of “16 Carriages,” “Blackbird,” and “Ya Ya” from her Cowboy Carter album, the event shattered streaming records.

Netflix reported a peak audience of 27 million viewers during the game, followed by 50 million additional streams within 10 days — with #BeyonceBowl even trending higher than #Christmas on X.

Beyoncé is also nominated in two additional categories at the upcoming Creative Arts Emmys, Outstanding Variety Special (Live) and Outstanding Directing for a Variety Special, setting up a potential head-to-head with her husband, Jay-Z, who is nominated as executive producer for Kendrick Lamar’s Super Bowl halftime show.

With her latest recognition, Beyoncé’s artistry is being celebrated not just for her performances, but for the meticulous creative vision that shapes them, a vision that has now earned her a seat at the Emmy table.
