The call for justice is growing louder in Jacksonville after 34-year-old Tiffany Felton, a mother and beloved member of her community, was found dead under a bridge on the city’s Westside Sunday evening, Nov. 16, 2025.

Her death has shaken local families, activists, and neighbors who say they’re determined to ensure her life is neither dismissed nor forgotten.

Police discovered Felton’s body around 6:30 p.m. under the Blanding Boulevard bridge near the Cedar River. A fisherman flagged down Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office officers after spotting what he believed was a body in the water below.

“They responded to that location and found a deceased Black female,” said Sgt. Kyle Matthew of the JSO Homicide Unit told First Coast News. The department has not released a cause of death, but investigators say the case is ongoing.

For many, grief has already turned into a call to action.

“This was an unnecessary killing,” said AJ Jordan, Outreach Coordinator for the anti-violence group MAD DADS. “Him or her left this lady under a bridge. It’s just sad.”

Jordan says the organization is preparing to support Felton’s family as they navigate the early days of shock and unanswered questions. The group is also urging witnesses to come forward.

“We need our city, our residents, to step up and tell what they know,” he said. “We have children without mothers now. That’s just sad. Tiffany’s life matters.”

Community advocates say the case highlights deeper concerns about violence in Jacksonville—particularly violence against Black women, whose disappearances and deaths rarely receive the sustained public attention they deserve. Felton’s loved ones describe her as a devoted mother and sister, someone whose absence will be felt in every corner of the family.

Jordan stressed that resolving the case requires collective effort.

“We want the family to know foremost that we care. MAD DADS care. We’re going to do our part to help the family move toward some closure,” Jordan added.

Police are asking anyone with information to contact the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office at 904-630-0500. Those wishing to remain anonymous can call Crime Stoppers at 866-845-TIPS.

As the investigation unfolds, one message is echoing across Jacksonville’s Westside: Tiffany Felton deserved safety, dignity, and a full life—and her community is determined to fight for justice in her name.
