The legacy of 1990s supergroup TLC is set to take center stage, with producers officially unveiling the principal cast for the upcoming production CrazySexyCool — The TLC Musical.
The highly anticipated show, which premieres this June at Arena Stage in Washington, D.C., will chronicle the rise, challenges, and enduring cultural impact of the chart-topping trio whose music defined an era.

Stepping into the roles of the group’s members are three accomplished theater performers tasked with bringing the story — and sound — of one of music’s most influential female acts to life.
Holli’ Gabrielle Conway will portray Tionne ‘T-Boz’ Watkins, drawing on her extensive Broadway experience, including roles in Tina: The Tina Turner Musical and Lempicka. Producers say her stage presence and vocal power made her a natural choice for the role.
Jade Milan has been cast as Lisa ‘Left Eye’ Lopes, bringing recent acclaim from Alicia Keys’ musical Hell’s Kitchen and prior performances in The Lion King. Milan’s dynamic energy is expected to capture the late rapper’s creative spirit and outspoken personality.
Rounding out the trio, Stoney B. Woods will play Rozonda ‘Chilli’ Thomas. The Bronx-born performer’s résumé spans Broadway, television, and recording, positioning her to portray the group’s soulful and charismatic vocalist.

Named after TLC’s blockbuster 1994 album, the musical will feature the group’s extensive catalog of hits, including chart-dominators that helped shape the sound and social voice of 1990s pop and R&B. Beyond the music, the production promises a deeper exploration of the trio’s sisterhood, personal struggles, creative tensions, and lasting cultural influence.
For surviving members T-Boz and Chilli, the stage production represents a major milestone in preserving their legacy.
“The moment we saw Holli’, Jade, and Stoney bring our music to life onstage, we felt an immediate connection,” T-Boz said in a statement.
Chilli added that the performers embody the authenticity of their journey.
“They carry our story with authenticity and grace, and watching them perform is genuinely captivating,” she said. “We can’t wait for audiences to experience this musical.”

Industry observers say the production reflects a growing trend of transforming major music legacies into theatrical storytelling, while also highlighting TLC’s lasting impact on conversations about empowerment, identity, and artistic independence.
The musical’s debut is expected to attract fans across generations, combining nostalgia, history, and live performance to celebrate one of the most influential girl groups of all time.
