‘A Reckoning Is on the Way for Epstein Co-Conspirators’: Rep. Ayanna Pressley Demands Justice for Survivors

by Gee NY

U.S. Rep. Ayanna Pressley is renewing her call for accountability and systemic change for survivors of sexual abuse and trafficking, delivering a powerful message that captures the urgency of justice in the wake of high-profile cases involving predators like Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell.

In a recent social media post and accompanying video, Pressley centered her remarks on the lifelong impact of abuse, stressing that many survivors were victimized as children and continue to carry the weight of those violations into adulthood.

“What has happened to our survivors… was a violation of dignity. It was a violation of bodies. It was a violation of dreams,” Pressley said. “You might see grown women, but they were mere children.”

Her comments come amid ongoing national and global conversations about accountability for powerful figures accused of sexual exploitation, as well as broader systemic failures that have historically allowed abuse to persist unchecked.

Nothing Changes If Nothing Changes

Pressley’s message extended beyond individual cases, calling attention to structural inequalities and societal norms that, she argues, perpetuate harm against women and vulnerable populations.

She pointed to issues such as sexual assault, domestic violence, coercive control, and sex trafficking as interconnected crises that require sustained legislative and cultural intervention.

“Nothing changes if nothing changes,” she said, urging policymakers and the public alike to reject complacency and push for meaningful reform.

Pressley also invoked the words of scholar and activist Angela Y. Davis, stating that she is “no longer accepting the things [she] cannot change,” but instead working to change what can no longer be tolerated.

A Push for Accountability and Healing

The Massachusetts congresswoman reaffirmed her commitment to pursuing accountability, transparency, and healing for survivors—many of whom, she noted, have been denied justice for years.

Her remarks echo broader advocacy efforts calling for stronger protections for victims, expanded access to resources, and legal reforms to hold perpetrators accountable regardless of their status or influence.

“Whether they are pastors, presidents, or princes, a reckoning is on the way,” Pressley declared.

Survivors at the Center

Central to Pressley’s message is a shift in perspective, one that places survivors at the forefront of the conversation, not as afterthoughts but as individuals whose lives and futures were profoundly altered.

She emphasized the need to move beyond acknowledgment toward action, envisioning a future where survivors are free from stigma and empowered to heal.

“I look forward to a day where we can all… feel totally and completely free—free from the shame, free from the burden,” she said.
