Digital artist and content creator Jerrilyn Lake, known online as @indeskribeabull, is calling out Meta, the parent company of Instagram and Facebook, for allegedly withholding $25,000 in earnings from its Threads bonus program.
In a passionate video shared to Instagram, Lake claimed she had been owed the money for months but has been stonewalled by Meta’s support team despite multiple attempts to resolve the issue.
“I tried so hard not to have to take legal action,” Lake said in the video. “But Instagram is holding my money. Meta is holding my money. They owe me $25,000 and they’re refusing to pay me.”

Lake explained that she participated in the Threads bonus program, a Meta initiative designed to incentivize creators to engage on its text-based platform Threads. According to her, she was earning around $5,000 a month, but the money never made it to her account.
“I sent my PayPal. I sent my bank statements. I sent a copy of my ID. Every piece of relevant information. And you have refused to verify my identity,” she said, accusing the tech giant of failing to close out her account while still retaining control of the funds.
The Atlanta-based artist, known for her outspoken creative commentary and wearable merch line @ok2bapparel, has launched a GoFundMe campaign to raise legal fees. She also encourages fans to support her via YouTube, Patreon, or CashApp ($indeskribeabull) as she begins withdrawing her content from Meta platforms.

Lake further alleged that in addition to holding her Threads earnings, Meta has now revoked her Facebook monetization privileges without explanation.
“It would be different if it was $25. But it’s $25,000, and I’m going to need that immediately,” she concluded, underscoring the seriousness of her financial grievance.
As of now, Meta has not publicly responded to the allegations. Lake is actively seeking legal counsel to explore potential remedies and compel payment.
