‘Bring This Baby Home’: 16-Year-Old Nyra Colon Missing Since July

by Gee NY

The family of 16-year-old Nyla Colon is pleading for answers after the teenager vanished from South Fulton nearly two weeks ago.

Loved ones say her disappearance is not a runaway case and warn that her life is in imminent danger without her prescribed medication.

Nyla, who suffers from a brain tumor and a history of seizures, requires daily life-saving medication. Her family says every hour without it increases the risks to her health.

“This is every parent’s worst nightmare,” one advocate wrote on social media, urging the public to spread the word and help bring her home.

She was last seen around 12:30 a.m. on July 27 near Roosevelt Highway and Mallory Road. At the time, she was wearing a blue Lilo & Stitch hoodie and black shoes. Nyla is described as 5-foot-2, weighing about 120 pounds.

Authorities have issued a 50-State Alert through Missing, Lost, and Trafficked, notifying law enforcement and communities nationwide to remain on the lookout.

On Instagram, advocates like @msgjonesy have been amplifying Nyla’s case, pointing out that while public attention often shifts to politics, “kids and young people are still disappearing every day.”

The post continued: “Someone knows something. Someone saw something. God illuminate the path to whomever wicked may have been involved in her disappearance. Give the detectives working on this extra wisdom and discernment with leads to solve this case and bring this baby HOME.”

Her mother describes Nyla as a vulnerable child in urgent need of medical attention, pleading for anyone with information to come forward.

If you have seen Nyla or know anything that could assist the investigation, contact Detective E. Allen at 470-693-2707 or email erica.allen@cityofsouthfultonga.gov.
