Cardi B’s “Bodak Yellow” music video was at 1.1 billion views on YouTube six days ago.

Congratulations to Cardi B, whose 2017 hit song ‘Bodak Yellow’ has become the most-watched solo female rap video on YouTube.

The Bronx rapper takes over from Nicki Minaj, the previous record holder.

Cardi B’s major-label debut single, “Bodak Yellow,” was co-written by Pardison Fontaine, Klenord Raphael, and producers J. White Did It and Laquan Green. Kodak Black received credit for the song’s interpolation of his song “No Flockin.”

Atlantic Records released ‘Bodak Yellow’ on June 16, 2017, as the lead single from her debut studio album Invasion of Privacy, which came out in 2018.

In 2017, The Washington Post and Pitchfork music critics named it the Best Song of the Year, and many other publications regarded it as one of the songs that defined the decade of the 2010s.

‘Bodak Yellow’ topped the US Billboard Hot 100 chart for three weeks in a row, making Cardi B the second female rapper to do so with a solo song, after Lauryn Hill in 1998 with “Doo Wop (That Thing).”

The record was previously held by Nicki Minaj’s ‘Anaconda,’ which has 1.1 billion views on YouTube but is currently trailing Cardi B’s ‘Bodak Yellow’ in popularity.”

Cardi B is the first female rapper to have two music videos on her YouTube channel that have received over one billion views. “Bodak Yellow” performed “I Like It” alongside Bad Bunny and J Balvin (1,378,042,302 views).

Cardi B is still in the business of dropping hits with “Enough (Miami)” from her upcoming sophomore album.

Cardi B teased the song on March 7 with a video posted to her official TikTok page. The video featured her rapping and dancing. She also posted the clip on Instagram with the caption “15.”
