On Sunday (Aug. 10), the “Blessed” singer stepped into the star-studded ceremony wearing the Alexa Gown from Cult Gaia — a $1,198 silk stunner held together by gold-toned brass rings and a daring open-back ribbon tie.
Unfortunately, some folks think that “vacation vibes” is precisely the issue. The revealing design had critics arguing she was either underdressed for a wedding or risking an accidental upstage of the bride. One Instagram user didn’t hold back, writing: “This is the perfect attire to be bent over a balcony on a tropical vacation… Not a Nigerian wedding.” Over on X, another user said, “I could and would end friendships over my guests showing up like this to my wedding by the way.”
Others weren’t here for the outrage, pointing out that the ceremony was in hot and humid Miami in August and that Davido’s wedding was more of a high-profile social event than a traditional ceremony. Some even called out the “energy” behind people who would end friendships over an outfit.
