Entrepreneur Jessica Taylor’s Ezra Coffee Expands into Central Market: Supports Education With Every Sale

by Gee NY

Jessica Taylor, the founder of Ezra Coffee, continues to break barriers as her company secures another major retail deal, this time with Central Market, one of Texas’ leading gourmet grocery chains.

This partnership adds to the impressive list of retailers already stocking Ezra Coffee, including more than 40 Texas-based H-E-B stores and Target’s online platform.

Taylor, who launched Ezra Coffee in 2021, was inspired by her sister’s soy and nut allergies, combined with lactose intolerance, to create a coffee line that caters to diverse dietary needs.

Within just 18 months, her brand has soared to become one of the few Black-owned businesses to secure significant retail distribution.

In a LinkedIn post announcing the Central Market expansion, Taylor shared her excitement:

“We’re thrilled to announce that Ezra Coffee Company is expanding! You can now find our Toasted Southern Pecan and Lorde Baldwin (Kenyan AA- Dark Roast) blends at a Central Market near you.”

She also acknowledged the community’s role in the brand’s rapid success:

“To our Ezra family and supporters, thank you for your continued support as we could not have done this without you!”

What sets Ezra Coffee apart, beyond its premium blends, is its commitment to education. A portion of every sale goes towards bi-annual scholarships for students pursuing four-year college degrees.

“From the very beginning, we set out to make Ezra Coffee a different kind of company, one that connects people, celebrates inclusion, supports education and community, and honors history,” the company’s mission statement reads.

Taylor’s recent milestones prove her dedication to blending business success with social impact, a model that is reshaping the landscape for Black-owned businesses in the retail industry.
