Nicki Minaj is facing a lawsuit from a fan who alleges that the rapper caused him significant emotional distress through public humiliation and harassment.
According to reports, the plaintiff in the lawsuit is Tameer Peak, who filed the paperwork in a Los Angeles courthouse. He claims that, despite being a staunch Minaj supporter for the past 15 years and claiming to have personally aided in the sales of her 2023 “Pink Friday 2” album through his promotion, the rapper has continued to target and humiliate him, allegedly causing irreparable damage to his reputation and career.
Based on documents obtained by TMZ, Tameer Peak, who was once a devoted fan of Minaj, claims that their relationship soured in 2017. The teenager claims Minaj publicly labeled him a “mentally unstable stalker” during a live broadcast, which has had a long-term impact on his mental and emotional health.
Nicki Minaj has cultivated one of the most dedicated and passionate fanbases in the music industry: the Barbz. The Barbz also actively engages in online discussions and debates, defending Minaj against criticism and promoting her music. Known for their unwavering loyalty and fierce defense of their queen, many have said that the Barbz have played a significant role in Minaj’s meteoric rise to fame.
Peak’s lawsuit detailed an alleged incident in which Nicki invited him to her hotel and “embarrassed him in front of 100K viewers.” In another alleged incident, Peak claimed Minaj’s husband, Kenneth Petty, “battered him” at a Super Bowl LIV event in 2020.”
Peak also claimed that Minaj implied he was on welfare, accusing him of being “one sandwich short of a picnic.” He also claimed Minaj described him as a “stalker” who falsely claimed to work for her.
He wants $5 million in damages for reputational harm, emotional distress, and financial loss.
