Taraji P. Henson stole the spotlight at the 2024 BET Awards with a series of head-turning outfit changes that kept viewers eagerly anticipating her next look.
The Oscar-nominated actress and third-time BET Awards host, 53, dazzled on the red carpet in a custom gold Balmain gown with chainmail detailing.
She accessorized with Tiffany & Co. jewelry, Betsey Johnson heels, a chic side-swept bob, and a smoky makeup look.
Styled by the legendary duo Wayman and Micah, Henson’s hosting duties began with a more casual ensemble.
She opened the show with a rap performance, dressed in a red hoodie, jeans, and sneakers, before transitioning into a dressy white outfit.
Henson’s fashion evolution continued throughout the night.
She sported a red snakeskin bustier paired with brown snakeskin pants while playing the banjo, then wowed in a strapless black-and-white floral dress with red accents and matching red gloves.
Next, she mixed it up with a dark denim romper, complete with an oversized double-buckle belt and shredded denim coat. Double diamond chain necklaces and denim blue nails added the finishing touches to this edgy look.
She didn’t stop there, donning a neon green strapless tube dress with a hip embellishment that showcased her bold style choices.
Ahead of the show, Henson expressed her excitement, stating:
“I’m looking forward to celebrating my peers and the impact of our culture on entertainment.”

Reflecting on her hosting experience, Henson, who wore 14 outfits during her last hosting gig in 2014, told People in 2022 that the live aspect of the show is one of her favorite things.
“I love live theater,” she said. “It’s so exciting. I love it. You have to be witty, you have to have a lot of stamina and you have to think quick on your feet. Because like I said, things can change at a drop of a dime. You got to be ready to go with the flow.”
The 2024 BET Awards airs on June 30 at 8 p.m. ET/PT live from the Peacock Theatre in Los Angeles.
