Tia Mowry is opening up about her love life and virginity like never before! In a candid revelation, the Sister, Sister star shared some deeply personal details about her relationship with her now ex-husband, Cory Hardrict.
Tia Mowry and Cory Hardrict met in 1999 and married in 2008. They announced the end of their 14-year marriage in October 2022, and the divorce was finalized in April 2023. They also had two children together: a 13-year-old son, Cree, and a 6-year-old daughter, Cairo.
The 46-year-old actress didn’t hold back about being a late bloomer during Friday’s premiere episode of her new reality series, “Tia Mowry: My Next Act.
“You know, I’ve never dated?” She went on to explain that her conservative upbringing played a significant role in her love life. “I wasn’t even allowed to date until I was 18 years old,” she confessed.
Mowry met Hardrict shortly after turning 20, one year after the Sister, Sister alum wrapped her hit TV series in 1999 while he was filming a horror movie. Their bond quickly blossomed into a loving relationship, eventually leading to marriage.
Reflecting on her decision to wait until she was 25 to lose her virginity, Mowry said, “Cory was my first—everything! I met Cory when I turned 20, and I lost my virginity at 25. There, I said it… And then we got married! BOOM! Welp!”
Tia Mowry filed for divorce from Hardrict in October 2022. At the time, the actress penned a vulnerable message to announce their split.
“I wanted to share that Cory and I have decided to go our separate ways. These decisions are never easy, and not without sadness,” Mowry wrote at the time. “We will maintain a friendship as we co-parent our beautiful children.”
In April 2023, their divorce was finalized.
Despite their divorce, Tia and Cory have maintained a good relationship and continue co-parenting their two children, Cree and Cairo, with love and respect.
