The rumor mill has been grinding over the weekend after Dreamgirls entertainer Jennifer Hudson was seen out on what appears to have been a date with Chicago rapper Common.
According to Entertainment Tonight, the pair was seen cozying up at the popular restaurant to the stars, Nobu, in Los Angeles. Both appeared quite comfortable as paparazzi snapped pictures of them as they were leaving dinner.
The 41-year-one talk show host – who is also from Chicago – was wearing a hot pink jacket on top of a sweatsuit and boots and topped the outfit with a lavender scarf. Meanwhile, The Light star was wearing a painted hoodie with chocolate-colored pants and a black jacket he held in his hand.
According to the entertainment outlet, Hudson and Common, born Lonnie Rashid Lynn, sparked rumors in the past after being seen together back in July. In September, she was asked about the suspected romance to which she replied, “people create their narratives of it, and it’s like, OK, you know, how you feel,” she continued. “We shot a film together, and he played my husband. We gotta eat in between those moments.”
Common has been romantically linked to famous celebrities in the past, including Tiffany Haddish, Angela Rye, Erykah Badu and Serena Williams. In a 2014 interview, he spoke up about his previous relationship with Badu.
“Yeah, the ‘Badu Box’ is real,” he said. “It can take you to another universe. But seriously that’s when you meet somebody that’s real special and you’re like, ‘Man, this woman got…she got something else, man.’ It ain’t just the sex. It ain’t just the looks. It’s like something that’s kind of like spirit-wise, where you’re like, ‘This woman got something else.’”
Jennifer Hudson was previously married to pro wrestler David Otunga, whom which she shares a son, David Daniel Otunga Jr.
