Justice For Miya! Young Woman Killed in Viral Hit-and-Run Incident Involving ‘Friends’: ‘Be Careful Who You Trust’

by Gee NY

A disturbing hit-and-run incident captured on video has left the city of Atlanta reeling and social media ablaze.

This is after a young woman — identified in multiple online posts as Miya — was fatally struck and dragged by a vehicle reportedly driven by someone she believed to be a friend.

The shocking footage, which first surfaced on X (formerly Twitter), shows Miya dancing in front of a car at a traffic light, allegedly alongside a group of women she had been socializing with earlier in the evening.

In a tragic turn, the driver of the vehicle — believed to be a woman in a pink outfit — accelerated when the light turned green, hitting Miya and dragging her several feet before fleeing the scene.

Miya was pronounced dead at the scene.

What has particularly gripped the public is the apparent betrayal. According to posts from someone who identified himself as a close friend, Miya had sent him a message shortly before her death expressing unease about the group she was with.

In the now-viral screenshot, Miya reportedly wrote that she “should’ve just ridden with [him],” and that “the vibe felt off.”

The friend, who said he had seen her earlier that day at a local spot, noted that Miya left with three women — two of whom she felt uneasy around. Not long after, she was dead.

Social media erupted in grief and rage following the release of the video, which shows Miya allegedly twerking in front of the vehicle moments before the driver surged forward, mowing her down without hesitation.

“They were sitting at the light and ran her over when it turned green… These girls are really ugly inside,” one X user posted. Others called for vehicular homicide charges and described the event as “premeditated.”

The Atlanta Police Department has yet to issue an official statement regarding arrests or suspects in connection to the case. However, speculation online continues to grow, with several users claiming the woman seen driving was part of the group Miya had been with all night.

Some users believe jealousy or deep-seated resentment may have motivated the incident. One post read, “They’ll call you ‘friend’ while plotting your end. Be careful who you trust.”

As the public demands justice, advocates are also pointing to the incident as an example of rising interpersonal violence among young people and the dangers of toxic social dynamics masked as friendship.

An investigation is ongoing.
